I am writing this because I feel that some of our citizens need a quick lesson on government. The citizens that I am writing to are the ones blaming our president for what's wrong with our country.
I believe that the Constitution does give our president certain powers in times of crisis, but the ultimate power lies with Congress. I believe last election the American people voted for change and they got it. Last time I looked, we had 235 Democrats, 199 Republicans and one vacant spot at our House of Representatives. We had 49 Republicans and 49 Democrats, one Independent Democrat and one Independent in our Senate. The way I see it, if my math is correct, the Democrats control the House and the Senate. These are the people who have shaped our policies.
So don't put all the blame on our president. Let him share it with the Democrats you voted in "for change" last election.
