I also find it very hard to believe that the businesses in downtown Warsaw would draw the line in the sand and oppose our homeless. I'm sure that some have made bad choices in life which may have lead to the problem that is facing them now, others may have been hard-working people and lost their job and later everything, we don't know.
All year long we have heard about the 350 project, you know, pick three local businesses that you would not want to see close and spend $50. How can they ask the community for help to keep them from being unemployed and turn around and oppose the people who need help the most?
Waking up each morning and not knowing where your next meal will come from or where you will sleep that night has to be the scariest feeling in the world. I'm sorry but I don't understand how or why we would try and block the progress that is being made. I cannot understand this.
So this is what my family and I will do. We don't want any downtown businesses to suffer and close as that will not solve anything. I will not do business with any of the names that were on the Times-Union list until they do the right thing and change their mind about the homeless shelter. That way any lost business will only last as long as they want it to. Change your mind on the homeless and I will change my mind on where I shop. Your move.
