Betty L Ferguson, 100, of Larwill, passed away Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, at her home.
Born Aug. 22, 1926, in Wabash, she was the daughter of the late Orley and Myrna Buys Cain.
A 1944 graduate of LaFontaine Township High School, Betty went on to graduate from Indiana University School of Nursing in 1948. On Aug. 27, 1948, she married Archie Ferguson DDS in LaFontaine. Betty was a partner with her husband and managed their dental office from 1956-1991. Betty was a member of Warsaw First United Methodist Church. As a reflection of her kind and generous heart, she baked hundreds of dozens of cookies to share with others at the church's coffee hour.
Betty’s passion and joy for life were visible to the loved ones she shared time with and the patients in her care. Her love spread beyond her friends and family to the animals she nurtured and the land she worked to conserve. Betty’s light will continue to live on in the many memories created with those she loved in her abundant 100 years.
Along with her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Archie F. Ferguson, DDS; and brother, William Cain, DDS.
At Betty's request there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Community Foundation of Whitley County Faith and Action Fund. Arrangements entrusted to DeMoney Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.
