Beckham, Warsaw Boys Claim NLC Cross Country Titles

DUNLAP – Warsaw’s Mia Beckham won the girls race, and the Tiger boys team placed five runners in the top 15 to claim Northern Lakes Conference cross country titles Saturday at Ox Bow Park.

The Lady Tigers finished second in the team competition, also placing five runners in the top 15. Beckham completed the course in 18:39, Emma Bohnenkamper was ninth in 20:02, Taylor Gunter 11th in 20:19, Remi Beckham 12th in 20:21 and Carmen Yoder 15th in 20:45.

Lucas Howett paced the Tiger boys with a third-place finish in 16:25. Taylor Mills was fifth in 16:30, Xavi Ramirez 11th in 16:46, Justin Fleming 12th in 16:47 and Sam Lechlitner 15th in 17:03.

The Wawasee boys were fourth in the team competition, led by spencer Hare’s second-place finish in 16:23. Luke Griner was eighth in 16:39 and Michael Hammer 16th in 17:06.

The Lady Warriors were sixth. McKenzie Smith was 14th in 20:36.

Warsaw will run in the Culver Academies Sectional, and Wawasee returns to Ox Bow for the Elkhart Central Sectional, both on Saturday morning.

Squires 2nd, Manchester Ladies 3rd at TRC Meet

NORTH MANCHESTER – The Lady Squires were third in the girls race, and the Manchester boys finished second in the Three Rivers Conference cross country meet Saturday at Manchester High School.

Jaelyn Webb finished third for the Lady Squires in 19:58. Torina Runkel was ninth in 20:37, Katie Barker 15th in 21:44, Sydney Diefenbaugh 20th in 22:26 and Maddy Evans 25th in 23:13.

Lance Bennett paced the Manchester boys, finishing 10th in 17:39, followed by Carter Bedke in 11th in 17:41. Montgomery Pattison was 22nd in 18:26, Benjamin Reichenbach 23rd in 18:27, and Reece Adamiec was 31st in 19:04.

Jordan Owens finished eighth for Tippecanoe Valley, leading the Vikings to a sixth-place showing in the team standings. Whitko was 10th.

Jadyn  Kolesiak was 16th for Valley in 21:46, and Valerie Jimenez was 18th in 22:05, leading the Lady Vikings to a fifth-place in the team standings. Whitko did not field a full team.

Manchester and Tippecanoe Valley will run in the Culver Academies Sectional on Saturday. Whitko competes in the Fort Wayne Northrop Sectional, also on Saturday.
