Beatrice A. “Bea” Brown, 93, Mishawaka, formerly of Syracuse, passed away at 3:15 a.m. Nov. 13, 2015, at Golden Living Nursing Home, Mishawaka. She was born Jan. 13, 1922, in Elkhart, to Chester Hugh and Alta Taylor Books. On April 13, 1949, she married Richard A. “Dick” Brown, who preceded her in death in 1992. She graduated from Niles High School, Niles, Mich. She was a homemaker and was formerly employed with McCormick & Cutter Chevrolet, Syracuse, and Indiana Surgical, Indianapolis, as a bookkeeper. She lived most of her life in Syracuse, Indianapolis and Tampa, Fla. before moving to Osceola and then the Mishawaka area a few years ago. She was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 1342, Syracuse, former member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #397, Goshen, and formerly attended the United Brethren Church and Syracuse Church of God. Surviving are three granddaughters, Patty (and spouse Matt) Wogoman-Sherwood, Granger; Debra (and spouse Aaron) Rice, Cedar Springs, Mich.; and Dorrie Langdon, Cromwell; eight great-grandchildren: Schuyler Bailey; Billy Hammer; Blake Hammer; Kaiden Parker; Catie (and spouse Keith) Trant; Ashley Langdon; Michelle Langdon; and Tori Langdon, one foster grandson, Robbie Ginn, Midland, Texas; and one son-in law, Clifford Wogoman, Syracuse. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Sherrie Wogoman and three brothers, Willard, Norvan, and Donald Books. A Celebration of Life Luncheon will be at noon Monday at the Church of God, 104 E. Washington St., Syracuse, with Pastor Stan Owen of the church presiding. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd., Warsaw. Private family burial will take place in the Syracuse Cemetery. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S.
