SYRACUSE – Barbara Ann "Barb" Kortum-Neff, 80, of Sarasota, Fla., passed away at 7:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, at her home in Sarasota.
She was born on Feb. 21, 1939, in Keokuk, Iowa, to Roy Wayne and Dorothy Mae Hagmeier Edwards
She graduated in 1957 from Hamilton Senior High School in Hamilton, Iowa, and received an associate degree from Keokuk Community College.
She was married in 1957 to John Roger Colvin, who preceded her; to Robert William Kortum, who also preceded her; and on Dec. 28, 2013, in St. Charles, Mo.; to Michael L. “Mike” Neff, who survives.
She was a corporate sales director with Hyatt Hotels & America Suites for 30 years and a former real estate agent in Missouri. Most of her life was spent in Keokuk, Iowa/St. Charles, Mo., and she spent summers in Syracuse.
She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in St. Charles, and attended St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Syracuse and Tri Par Covenant Church in Sarasota.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Neff of Sarasota; daughter, Cariann Arras of St. Charles; two granddaughters, Heather Arras and Melissa Arras; two great-grandsons, Troy Allen and Russell Allen; a stepdaughter, Kristine Neff of Chino, Calif.; a stepson, Brian (Keri) Neff, M.D., of Rochester, Minn.; and three stepgrandchildren: Kathryn, Trent and Aubrey Neff.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home, with Pastor Jim Tormey officiating.
Burial will take place in the Union Center Cemetery near Nappanee.
