Barbara A. Gable, 91, Winona Lake, passed away at 11:15 p.m. April 30, 2015, in Grace Village Healthcare Center, Winona Lake. She was born Oct. 12, 1923, in Warsaw, to Everett and Lucille Morris Shipley. On April 5, 1942, in Warsaw, she married Duane M. Gable, her husband of 73 years, who survives. A lifetime resident of Warsaw, she was a homemaker, an avid golfer and a member of Rozella Golf Course, Warsaw. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church, Warsaw, Tri Kappa Sorority and was past president and member of Warsaw Arts and Crafts Club. She loved wintering in Tucson, Ariz. Also surviving are three children: Pamela (and spouse Michael) Valentine, Warsaw; Nancy Beebe, Wiley, Texas; and David (and spouse Karen) Gable, Florence, Ky.; nine grandchildren: Jon (and spouse Angie) Valentine, Zionsville; David Valentine and Megan (and spouse Pat) Haas, all of Warsaw; Ashley (and spouse Mark) Ritchie, Union, Ky.; Allison and Curtis Gable, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; Chase Gable, Fort Collins, Colo.; Justin (and spouse Rita) Beebe, Boston, Mass.; Jennifer Beebe, Wiley, Texas; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Colonel Francis Shipley. There are no services or visitation planned. Burial will be at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery.
