On Oct. 14, our black lab "Sadie" ran off with the neighbor dog "Rex". We spent hours tromping through fields and woods looking for them.
I called the AWL on the 16th and reported them missing. I also went there after work that day to check. We put an ad in the paper, and called the AWL the next week. No, they aren't here.
On Tuesday the 27th, I called to see if they had been brought in. No, nothing like that here. Thank goodness my husband stopped in there (just in case) to look on the 29th. Our Sadie was there and had been since the 17th! Poor Rex was put to sleep because he tested positive for heartworm. We were told they didn't call us because they didn't think he looked like a Rotweiler.
We are heartbroken. So please, if you have lost your dog, don't just call the AWL, go there in person and look for yourself because the people answering the phone don't know what is out back in the cages.
