Editor, Times-Union: I am amazed at how quickly our homes and properties have been reassessed and the notices sent out since the school referendum passed. My neighbor came over yesterday after we received them and wanted to know if ours went up. I hadn’t had time to open them so I looked at them and compared the figures to last year. As neither of us had made any improvements to land or structures, we found that both of our assessments had increased by $2,500! Seriously? Both of us had the same increase? Seems as though $2,500 is a magic number. I shudder to think what the actual tax increase will be for the next 20 years. Linda Berger Warsaw, via email
