Arrogant

Editor, Times-Union:

How is it that the Times-Union has empowered just one person to publicly review (trash) a play at the Wagon Wheel Theatre?

Has David Slone even read "To Kill A Mockingbird"? How arrogant of him to criticize this play, when it so closely follows the book. Yes, in the first half, the children's attempts to coax out Boo Radley are humorous, but that is the way the book was written. That is the intended lesson - to show the contrast between childlike innocence and worldly knowledge. Racism and discrimination were widespread in Alabama in 1935. Sadly, both topics are still issues today. We have such a rich theater resource here in Warsaw. If our community would attend even one WWT performance, it would see what a treasure we have.

Please, don't allow the opinion of just one person to discourage anyone from attending this outstanding performance. "To Kill A Mockingbird" is a wonderful and enlightening story. Go see it. You won't be sorry.

PS: Mr. Slone, in your review the word you should have used was "tails" not "tales".
