Arloeen Edith French, 89, Winona Lake, passed away at 5:50 a.m. May 25, 2014, at Grace Village Health Care, Winona Lake. She was born Dec. 18, 1924, in Seattle, Wash., to William E. and Edith Marie Isbell Krause. On Sept. 17, 1944, she married Pastor Ivan H. French, who died Dec. 12, 2013. She was a homemaker and wife whose husband pastored Pleasant View Bible Church of Warsaw from 1975 to 1992. She received her associate’s degree from Eastern Oregon State University, as well as her bachelor’s degree in theology from Northwest Christian University in Eugene, Ore. She was active in the children’s ministry of her church, a member of the Seminary Wives Fellowship and the Faculty Women’s Club of Grace College and Seminary in Winona Lake. She leaves behind one daughter, LaNita French, Warsaw; three sons: John (and spouse Christine) French, Winona Lake; David (and spouse Lori) French, Manila, Philippines; Douglas French, LaPorte; and four grandchildren: Suzanne (and spouse Shawn) Osborne, Fort Wayne; John David French, Winona Lake; Alexandra and Tobin French, Manila. She was preceded in death by her parents, William E. Krause and Edith Marie Isbell Krause Worley, and one sister, Helen Crossen. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. June 7 at Grace Village Chapel, 337 Grace Village Drive, Winona Lake, and officiated by Pastor John French and Chaplain Bryan Benjamin. A graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with Pastor Mike Hontz officiating. Those wishing to attend should meet at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, to go in procession to the cemetery.
