An?Arizona man is in the hospital after a chase with Warsaw police on North Detroit Street Tuesday afternoon. According to a press release from the Warsaw Police Department, police were alerted to a link between a black Ford F350, driven by Myron Jay Tomlinson, 65, Arizona, and a recent standoff with the Wabash County Sheriff’s Department. A Warsaw police officer attempted to stop Tomlinson, who was traveling north near Anchorage Road. Tomlinson allegedly refused to stop and told dispatch officers that they should give up because he would “not be taken alive,” according to the release. Officers stopped the truck in the area of CR 350N. Tomlinson refused to obey the officers’ orders to shut off his truck. Tomlinson told the officers he wanted to die and told the officers to shoot him. A Warsaw Police Department officer then deployed his stun gun to allow law officers to take Tomlinson into custody. Tomlinson was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital where he received treatment and evaluation. Charges are pending against Tomlinson, according to Warsaw Police Chief Scott Whitaker.
