Valley Youth Wrestling Programs Beginning Soon

AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley wrestling opens the season with two programs; the elementary camp and the wrestling club. Both will be held in the Valley Middle School commons and are open to all students K-5, as well as students outside of the Valley school corporation.

The camp will be held from 6:30-8 p.m.  Nov. 6-9. Wrestlers and parents can enter through the main entrance at TVMS. There is no charge for the camp.

Wrestling club will meet from 6-7:30 p.m. every Monday and Thursday. For wrestlers, who get their USAW membership card, the cost is $50 (which includes the $40 USA wrestling card fee). For all others, the cost to join is $25.

Both will be instructed by the Tippecanoe Valley wrestling coaching staff, former wrestlers and guest coaches. Contact coach Kyler Kearby at kearbyk@tvsc.k12.in.us or 574-598-2200 with questions.



Tiger Booster Club Selling Ads

The Warsaw High School Adult Tiger Booster Club is currently soliciting  for ads for the upcoming winter sports program.

Businesses and firms who have advertised in the past were contacted by mail. Anyone else interested in advertising in the program should contact Marlin J. Carr at 574-267-5858 by Nov. 1.

In addition, club membership forms  have also been mailed to all previous booster club members. For renewal of memberships or to join the club, contact Cheryl Lacheta at 574-372-3605.

The Adult Tiger Booster  Club supports all sports programs at Warsaw Community High School.



Valley Athletic Awards Monday,

Football Awards Nov. 1


AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley will present its fall athletic awards, except for football, at 7 p.m. Monday in the high school commons. Football awards will be presented at 7 p.m. Nov. 1.

Refreshments will be served, and the public is invited to attend.



Wildcats Hoops Fundraiser Nov. 4

SOUTH WHITLEY – Whitko’s boys basketball team will host a fundraiser breakfast from 7:30-10:30 a.m. Nov. 4 at the AMVETS building, 234 S. State St. in South Whitley.

Tickets are $5 each, and a family of five or more is $20. Children 5 and under are free. Tickets are available from any Whitko boys basketball player, manager or coach, and will also be sold at the door.



Freaky 5K On Saturday

The Cancer Care Fund is hosting a Halloween Family Fun Run/Walk, The Freaky 5K, on Saturday. Race day registration begins at 8 a.m. at the K21 Health Pavilion on Provident Court. There will be overall male and female winners, plus first and second-place medals for each age division.

Runners are encouraged to come in costume and enjoy a fall run or walk through the Beyer Trail and the Kosciusko Community Hospital campus. All net money raised goes to the Cancer Care Fund.



Homes For Haiti Run Saturday

ALBION – The Homes For Haiti Trail Run, featuring a 5K run/walk and 10K run, will be held Saturday at Bear Lake Camp.

The course is asphalt and dirt, and will go to the Merry Lea Environmental Center before retuning to the camp.

Registration is $20 and includes a T-shirt if the entry is received by Oct. 15. Race-day registration is available, but the shirt cannot be guaranteed.
