Editor, Times-Union:
When we turn a blind eye to the harsh realities faced by animals in these facilities, we miss an opportunity to embrace a truly compassionate lifestyle. Plant-based diets are not merely a trend; they are a crucial step toward a sustainable future. They promote environmental health and reduce public health risks from zoonotic diseases.
Humans often take pride in our supposed moral superiority, yet our dietary choices reflect a glaring hypocrisy. If we truly value life, why do we justify taking it for our convenience?
As we navigate these conversations, it’s essential to remember: compassion shouldn’t stop at the dinner plate. A better world for animals — and for us — is possible.
