Editor, Times-Union: I should have written this 30 years ago! I served on the American Legion Post 49 Honor Guard and I am sharing conversation that always occurred after the service. More often it was out-of-towners, county and out of state. Their remarks had to do with the appearance and care of Oakwood Cemetery. Dick Hammand, Mario Sahagan and Hal Heagy (hope I got the right ones) have certainly maintained one of the finest. I visit “Suzie” site often and Oakwood looks great! Mom and Dad, Russ and Uncle Frank, too. If you haven’t seen the addition to Legion Circle 3 you should take time to see the addition of the five branches: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard. Thank you Hal Heagy and John Sadler. Respectfully, Robert Lichtenwalter Warsaw
