Antifa

In response to a recent letter to the TU titled “Auntie Who,” I just couldn’t allow it to go unnoticed. It seems the writer had fallen for the usual tool of the left ... projection. The writer’s interpretation of the organization, which calls itself Antifa, is some sort of haphazard, disjointed movement standing against fascism. It is actually a very organized militant group which is bent on anarchy and the destruction of this country. They are so dangerous that a resolution was submitted to Congress to label them as domestic terrorists!

Antifa has been an integral part of the riots which plagued our largest cities. They burned and pillaged hundreds of small businesses, with no regard to the people who’ve spent their lives trying to build something to give their children. They’ve beaten journalists like Andy Ngo and two others in a Portland riot and put them in the hospital. They’ve wreaked havoc on UC Berkeley to shut down conservative speakers and the freedom of speech and during the riots of 2020 their violence injured over a hundred police and claimed dozens of lives.

These black clad terrorists wearing backpacks and masks have their hands in the destruction of countless businesses, the injury and death of many civilians. How this writer can dismiss the horrifying conduct by this anti-American group, as some sort of disgruntled rabble trying to stop fascism is just naive.

Fascism was an idea born by an English philosopher, Thomas Carlyle, 195-1881. He was poor and disgruntled because the capitalist economy seemed to have no room for him. He coined the phrase “dismal science.” The phrase is an often used term among Socialists when speaking of capitalism. The governmental form of fascism occurred much later. It was Giovanni Gentile, a self-styled philosopher of fascism, along with a man called Benito Mussolini, collaborated on the writings of the “Doctrine of Fascism” in 1932. An ideology which depends on a large central government which bends the arm of corporations to force compliance with the wishes of the government. This practice of governmental strong arming is not foreign in the history of the world ... it goes on today. The likes of Facebook, Google and Twitter have too fallen in line with the wishes of our government.

I hope the letter writer would take a closer look at, not only Antifa, but this man of “integrity,” as she would say, who has moved on after heading up the most embarrassing military debacle and abandonment of Americans in the history of this country! Monikers can be deceiving, sometimes on purpose.
