Another victim has accused a Silver Lake man of failing to disclose he was HIV-positive before having sex. Travis Spoor, 37, of 10255 S. CR 200W, was arrested March 14 on charges of malicious mischief involving bodily fluid. It was the fifth time Spoor had been arrested on allegations that he failed to disclose his illness to sexual partners. Amid media coverage of Spoor’s most recent arrest, another victim contacted the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and said she slept with Spoor in 2015. Kosciusko County Prosecutor Dan Hampton filed two new charges against Spoor Tuesday. The story the new victim told is similar to the other cases. She met Spoor on plentyoffish.com and they met and began an intimate relationship. She told police she had unprotected sex with him twice at his residence. She said he was taking a lot of pills, but the only medical problem that he told her about was his missing arm, which he claimed to have lost in a farming accident, according to court records. With the new case, Spoor faces 13 felony charges across four counties. He faces 12 felony counts of malicious mischief — six in Kosciusko County, four in Allen County and two in Marshall County. He also faces a felony charge of failure to warn of a communicable disease in Wabash County. At least seven women could be victims in the cases. The arrests began in 2016, when the first victim met with an Indiana State Police trooper. The victim said she had unprotected sex with him four times and her friend had told her Spoor was sick. She said Spoor was taking “a lot of pills,” according to court records. Spoor sent a text messages denying he was HIV-positive. The ISP trooper obtained Spoor’s medical records and found that he did have HIV and had signed a form from the Indiana State Department of Health requiring him to inform people of his illness before sleeping with them. That investigation led to the first two charges. Spoor has multiple court dates scheduled. In May he has a change of plea hearing for the two counts in Marshall County. He faces a jury trial on his first Kosciusko arrest in June, and another jury trial has been scheduled on the four Allen county charges in August. He is being held in the Kosciusko County Jail. If he is able to bond out, he would be transferred to Wabash. Hampton has filed to revoke Spoor’s bond from his March 14 arrest based on the new charges. Initial bond was set at $251,000. A hearing to revoke Spoor’s bond was scheduled for Thursday in Kosciusko Superior Court I. Spoor’s bond with Wabash County has already been revoked.
