NORTH WEBSTER – A Millersburg man was arrested Friday in connection with a North Webster home invasion in April.
Matthew Michael Morris, 38, is charged with one count of burglary and one count of robbery with a deadly weapon.
On April 11, a couple reported two men dressed in black entered their home with guns. The men held them at gunpoint and took guns, knives, money, jewelry and prescription medication.
The two men forced the couple to lie down on a bed while they reportedly took items and escaped the home.
Police initially arrested the couple’s grandson, Jesse Roberson, 19, North Webster, along with Daniel Edgar, 30, Topeka, and Cody?Stuckman, 22, North Webster, in connection with the robbery.
Charges against Edgar were dropped.
Police allege Stuckman drove the men to the scene. Stuckman orignally identified Edgar as being involved in the robbery. But Stuckman later admitted he falsely accused Edgar, according to court records.
Stuckman told police he drove Morris, Roberson and two others to the scene. No charges have been filed as of press time against the other two.
Stuckman told police Morris and Roberson exited the vehicle and entered the home. Stuckman picked them up in a field as they returned with the items from the residence.
The group then drove to Stuckman’s father’s house, where they spilt up the items. The two others took rings and jewelry. Stuckman took three guns and Roberson took three guns. Morris took knives and Morris and Stuckman also took $227 each in cash, police said.
During the investigation, witnesses told police that Roberson talked about robbing his grandparents.
Morris is being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on a $25,250 bond.
