Animal Cruelty

Editor, Times-Union:

I just read the article about the animal cruelty that has been going on at the AWL and it literally made me sick to my stomach.

I called Jerry Clause a couple of years ago about a pit bull that had puppies and she was starved, you could see her ribs and hips. You could tell she was emaciated. She was trying to feed a litter of puppies. Someone saw the owner kick one of the pups across the room, and reported it to me, and I reported it to him.

He told me he needed more than just heresay to go check it out. I told him to just drive by the trailer he could see for himself, but he said he needed facts and hung up on me.

So, I believe this story holds some weight and someone like that should not be in that position. He should be fired immediately and anyone that worries more about the looks of the building more than the health of the animals should take a walk also.

Animals can not fend for themselves and to hear this happened just makes my blood boil. I care more for animals than I do some people, and he falls into that category.

Jerry Clause needs to be fired, and someone needs to take over that place that has a little more compassion for the animals and less on appearances of the outside building.
