Alleged Choking Incident Leads To Winona Man’s Arrest

A Winona Lake man is facing charges after police say he choked his girlfriend and threatened to kill her. Brian Redden, 33, of 3104 Sandra Lane, #B, faces one count of strangulation, a level 6 felony; one count of intimidation, a level 6 felony; domestic battery in front of a child, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor. On Sept. 30, a Winona Lake police officer responded to a domestic call where he met with the victim. The woman told the police she had got into an argument with Redden and she told him to leave. She told police that?Redden knocked her down and began to choke her, according to court documents filed with the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office. The woman told police she could feel his hands shaking as he was choking her because he was so angry. The woman packed her bags and called her friend to help get out of the situation. Redden began to choke her again, saying, “I’m going to kill you, I’m going to kill you right now,” according to charging documents. The woman’s friend told police she overheard Redden threatening the victim and shouting obscenities at her. Redden was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail Monday at 12:13 p.m. Bond was set at $6,000.
