Alice Edwards

Posted

When Alice departed this life, she had an extra special place in her heart for JaQwan Nelson/nephew, Lamaria Nelson, Edward Nelson, Laray Nelson, Jessie Nelson, Elizabeth Nelson, Antonio Nelson Jr. and Frankie Nelson. She graciously cared for them upon the loss of their mother, Tiffany Marie Edwards, who was named after Alice.
Alice was preceded in death by her son, Montre Edwards; sister, Camilla Edwards; brother, Charles Edwards; father, Charles Ivory; grandparents, Addie and Earl Washington; and her aunt, Mable Palmer. There are so many other family members that greeted "Penny" at Heaven's door.
She leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Essie Edwards; sisters, Charlotte and Joyce Edwards; aunts, Emma Jean House and Delores Willis, Christine Washington; nieces: Diamond Marshall, Ali Edwards and Breaisa Hassel. Penny played an important role in the lives of so many of her great-nephews, Malichi, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and family.
A special thanks to her Warsaw family. She leaves a tremendous impact on the Strengthening Families and Celebrate Recovery Programs' families, along with countless other organizations she was a part of. She was happy to offer time, wisdom and care to all.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Touch of Life Church, 2339 W. Old U.S. 30, Warsaw, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made for the needs of Alice's six nieces and nephews whom she dedicated her life to across the last five years.
