SYRACUSE – Albert “Junior” Hamman, 87, of North Webster, died Nov. 8, 2011, in his residence.

He was born March 31, 1924, in North Webster, to Albert and Ruth Frush Hamman. On Sept. 27, 1944, he married Beverly Gray, who died in 2008.

A lifelong area resident, he retired as a commercial plumber and steamfitter union 166. He belonged to the North Webster United Methodist Church. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, and was past commander of the North Webster American Legion Post 253, which he belonged to for more than 62 years.

Surviving are three daughters: Jacquelynn (and spouse Jerry) Smith, Leesburg; Kathryn (and spouse Morton) Berry, Florence, Mont.; and Robin Marie (and spouse Curt) Foster, San Diego, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Coy Leedy and Estelle Hamman. He also was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Eastlund Funeral Home, 7458 E. CR 1000N, Syracuse, with Pastor David Smitley officiating. Burial will be in North Webster Cemetery with full military honors.
