AKRON – A. Jean DeWitt, 57, of Argos, passed at 10:02 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born on Sept. 24, 1961, in Muncie, to James and Alberta Wagner Stettler.
She was married on Dec. 8, 1979, in Muncie, to Richard D. DeWitt. He survives.
She had worked for R.R. Donnelley & Sons of Warsaw for 15 years.
She enjoyed crocheting, collecting bears, reading, shopping and going to bingo. She always loved spending time with her kids and grandkids.
Survivors include her husband, Richard DeWitt, Argos; sons: Eric DeWitt (girlfriend Angelea), Akron; Dean DeWitt, Argos; and Brent DeWitt, Argos; daughters, Angela (husband David) Doss, Bourbon, and Amanda DeWitt, Kentucky; three grandchildren; brothers, James “Tater” Stettler and Terry Stettler; sisters: Carolyn Nantz, Roberta “Bob” Phillips and Debbie Stettler; half brothers, Melvin Smith and Dan Smith; and her dog, Maggie Mae.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Alberta Stettler.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, in Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron. The Rev. Phil Pratt will officiate.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hartzler Funeral Home.
