Sorry for Ms. Collins’ feelings that she “lives in the worst county in the worst state in the country.” Two of her reasons for the dislike are based on incorrect information.
There is no “moratorium on renewable energy.” If you installed renewable after 12/31/17 you get the subsidy till 7/1/2032. If installed before 1/1/18 you get the subsidy till 1/1/2047. If you install now through 7/1/2022 you get the subsidy till 2032. After 7/1/2022 you will get 25 percent over wholesale rate for your excess energy produced. Depending on when you install renewable, you get subsidized for from 10 to 30 years. That is hardly a moratorium.
The other drawback cited was “Indiana’s beautiful wild deer herds are becoming infected with chronic wasting disease (CWD) due to the proliferation of their shameful, godless practice of canned hunting preserves.” There is no known case of CWD in Indiana. Our herd may be getting smaller but it is because of our hunting regulations, not CWD.
Hope this relieves some of the animosity you seem to have against our county and state.
