SYRACUSE — Wawasee experienced its share of interruptions during the 2020-21 girls basketball season. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Warriors had the first five games on their scheduled wiped out. After the scrimmage, they had to wait weeks to play their Nov. 3 opener.

The Triton Trojans football team could only muster one first half touchdown on two Northfield Norsemen fumbles, and two more Norsemen mishandled punt snaps. Lakeland Christian Athletes Honored In Fall Sports Awards
I did something last week that I have never done in my 30 years of broadcasting—I went away for Fall Break. Normally the Grossmans stay home and use the extra time off from school to relax and get caught up on paper grading, game prep and such. My wife found a place to hang out right next to Warren Dunes State Park in Michigan, so we went there for a few days. There was no earthly way I was going to hike the 100-foot-high dune right next to the beach without being airlifted out of there. So while I took pictures of my crew working their way up to the summit, I had some time to think.
The Lady Tiger rugby team traveled to Oak Park Sunday to take on Berkley in their last game of the season
Halloween is approaching us in less than a week’s time. The weather is getting colder, and the ghouls and goblins are getting ready to emerge to celebrate Hallows Eve. When you usually think of monsters, you think of the mean, the devious, the grotesque. But when it comes to the athletes we watch and appreciate, monster is about the best thing to call them. So to celebrate the holiday, I’ve come up with a list of the top five monsters in sports. The big, the strong, the fast. There are tons of guys that didn’t make the list, and I limited it to athletes I’ve seen play in my lifetime. But keep your eyes peeled, one of these is not like the other. Hope you enjoy!

This was the second consecutive year Kouts put an end to Triton’s regional run.

To say that Wade Jones had a hand in Tippecanoe Valley’s sectional-opening win at Garrett High School Friday night would be a huge understatement. The 6-foot-5, 186-pound sophomore caught passes from quarterbacks on both teams, setting a school record for interceptions in a game with four and added 31-yard touchdown catch, as the Vikings beat the host Railroaders 22-8 and set up a 3A Sectional 26 semifinal game with Mishawaka Marian next week at Death Valley.
