Lakeland Christian Academy’s athletic department is pleased to announce its latest addition to the coaching staff.  Warsaw native, Taylor Long, will take the helm as the Cougars’ Head Boys Basketball coach.  Long replaces Jake Ritchie, who had a record of 26-22 in his two seasons and led LCA to the sectional title game both years of his leadership.

Manchester University Athletics and the MU Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) were honored to hold its awards reception – the Manny Awards –in the Upper Jo Young Switzer Center on Monday. Meeting in person for the awards reception for the first time in three years due to the COVID pandemic, Manchester recognized some of its top student athletes for their outstanding accomplishments on the field and in the classroom during the 2021-22 academic year.

Grace College’s softball team saw a trio of players earn end-of-season recognition.

Grace’s women’s golf team was pleased to have Summer Stillson recognized by the Crossroads League after the conclusion of the 2021-22 season.

Grace track and field battled the weather and league foes at the Crossroads League Championships. The meet was held at the Harris Family Track and Field Stadium on the campus of the University of Notre Dame.

A late game rally by the Manchester University baseball team helped the Spartans earn a split of Wednesday’s Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader against rival Anderson.

In its first year as a USA Ultimate-sanctioned program, the Grace College Ultimate team advanced to Nationals after securing its bid by placing first at the Division III Great Lakes Regional tournament at The Plex in Fort Wayne on May 1. Nationals will take place May 21-23 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

For the first time in Manchester University Men's Track & Field history, the Spartans claimed a sweep of both the indoor and outdoor Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference titles. After winning the 2022 HCAC Indoor Championship back in February, the Black & Gold completed their sweep by winning the 2022 HCAC Outdoor Championship on Saturday at Hanover College. For the first time since 2016, the Manchester University women's track & field program claimed a sweep of both the indoor and outdoor Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference titles. After winning the 2022 HCAC Indoor Championship back in February, the Black & Gold completed their sweep by winning the 2022 HCAC Outdoor Championship on Saturday.

Grace’s baseball team dropped two games at Taylor to conclude the 2022 season on Saturday.

The Tippecanoe Valley Vikings hosted Fort Wayne Concordia, South Bend Riley and South Central (Porter County) in a softball tournament Saturday with the hosts hoisting championship hardware after everyone dusted the dirt off their uniforms in the late afternoon.

The Warsaw Tigers hosted the Huntington North Vikings in a softball doubleheader where the guests captured two five-inning IHSAA mercy rule wins 14-2, and 15-2 Saturday at the Tiger Softball Complex.

The 2022 Max Truex Invitational is a meet honoring the Warsaw native who was an Olympian runner and record holder formatted to evaluate the team depth of the customary eight or nine competing squads. Most of these squads make deep runs at regional and state level.
