The Manchester Squires, led by Dominic Lincoln’s two individual regional titles in the 110- and 300-meter hurdles, and his anchor leg on the team’s winning 1600-meter relay, had the area’s best team performance in Thursday night’s boys’ track and field regional hosted by Goshen.

Isaac Brown completed the final chapter in his storied career by winning the NAIA national championship in the high jump. He claimed the first title in school history by jumping a school record 2.14 meters, which put him over the magical seven-foot barrier (7-0 1/4).

Manchester University junior distance runner Enrique Salazar is set to compete at the 2022 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championships this weekend Geneva, Ohio. Salazar will compete in the 10,000m which is slated to be held on Thursday May 26 at 9:15 p.m. This year’s championships will be held at the SPIRE Institute.

Area teams won regional titles in two events in Tuesday night’s Kokomo IHSAA girls’ track and field regionals, and the Warsaw Tigers finished in the runner-up position in the team standings. The top 3 placers from each event will qualify for the state track meet Friday, June 3, in addition to Standard 3 qualifiers with times suitable for state-level competition.

A group of 19 Lancer athletes will compete in 13 different events at the 2022 NAIA National Track and Field Championships this week in Gulf Shores, Ala. The three-day event is held at the Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium from Wednesday to Friday.

Busy Weekend For The Fat & Skinny Tire Festival

The Warsaw Tigers entered Saturday’s 2022 Northern Lakes Conference (NLC) boys’ golf tournament tied with the Northridge Raiders at 6-1 in the regular season standings. Warsaw used a convincing 6-stroke victory by Cal Hoskins accompanied by three other Tiger golfers among the top ten finishers to clinch the outright NLC title Saturday at Black Squirrel Golf Course.

The Do INdiana Off-road (D.IN.O) Mountain Bike Racing Series has been holding races at the Winona Lake Trails since 2002. Since 2005, it’s been one of the headliners of the Fat & Skinny Tire Festival, a three-day event celebrating all things bicycle.

A Southwestern wind ranging from 10 to 25 miles per hour was blowing from home plate to center and right center field late Friday afternoon in the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings’ final home game.

WARSAW – Warsaw continued its traditional dominance in sectional action Tuesday night with its 15th straight (excluding the COVID shutdown) IHSAA girls’ track and field sectional title. Most of the Tiger athletes were in diapers or were starting pre-school the last time the Warsaw girls’ squad did not win a sectional (2006).

The 13th annual Blackburn Run 4 Others will take place on June 18, 2022.  The event hosts both a 5K run/walk and also a 10K run.

The Manchester University men's outdoor track & field team swept the weekly Athlete of the Week honors from the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, as announced on Monday.

Three of the four Warsaw Lady Tiger Softball Tournament competitors were comprised of area teams: the Manchester Squires, the Triton Trojans, and the host Warsaw Tigers. The guests who traveled farthest, however, the Homestead Spartans, took the championship trophy home with them Saturday afternoon.
