The Trine University men's basketball team will be hosting the 2022 Hoosier Basketball Boys Camp on July 10th through the 13th on the campus of Trine University. The camp is open for boys basketball players ages 7-17.

The rain did not last long and it ended up being a beautiful day at Rozella Ford Golf Club in Warsaw as team members took turns swinging clubs for a good cause at the 30th Annual Beaman Home Golf Scramble on Monday, June 6th. Overall, the event netted $12,500 to support the Beaman Home’s continued goal to provide essential services to domestic violence victims and their children. With 28 teams participating, the day was full of fun and friendly competition.

While the Warsaw Tigers’ team score improved in the second and final day of the IHSAA boys golf championship from Prairie View golf course, the team’s position dropped by two spots. After shooting a 318 Wednesday, the Tigers finish the tournament with a 637, ten strokes behind podium finishers Indianapolis Cathedral, who overtook four teams on day two to secure the finish.
The Warsaw Tigers golf team wrapped up its opening round of the state championship at Prairie View golf course Tuesday, and has plenty to be happy about with the results. The Tigers finished the day with a team score of 319 after 18 holes, twenty strokes behind the leaders, Guerin Catholic.

It was a terrific day for the Warsaw Tigers golf team at their regional match at Swan Lake golf course in Plymouth Thursday. The Tigers shot a 298 as a team to finish in second place and advance to the state finals next week.

Grace College’s athletic department earned two national awards at the annual NCCAA national convention. Grace repeated as the NCCAA Presidential Award for the second straight year, and the school was also named a finalist for the inaugural #KingChasing award.
Baseball, Softball and Girls Rugby teams all compete in playoffs
Friday’s weather for the girls, and Saturday’s weather for the boys set the stage for fast fields among the running events at the IHSAA track and field championships last weekend. Field events, however, were the source of most of the area’s IHSAA state meet hardware.
Perfect conditions welcomed athletes to the IHSAA Boys Golf Sectional at Rozella Ford golf course Friday, in which six local area schools competed. The sectional was won by Columbia City, but Warsaw’s team as well as two local individuals finished the day as regional qualifiers.
Whitko softball made the long trip to Western Boone High School worth it with a 9-7 extra innings win over the home team on Tuesday to secure the school’s first regional championship since 2017, and second in school history. The Lady ‘Cats have gotten hot at the perfect time, and extend their winning streak to five and improve their record to 10-12.

As part of Warsaw’s First Friday Event and the “Remembering the Warsaw Speedway” Exhibit sponsored by the Kosciusko County Historical Society, this Friday will honor another group of Warsaw Speedway drivers and a track official that made such an impact to the local speedway, the fans, and the sport of racing.

The NAIA Nationals track and field meet filled with historic firsts for Grace concluded on Friday in Alabama. The Grace men recorded their first-ever top 10 finish, while the women produced their first NAIA All-Americans in outdoor track and field.
