The Warsaw Boys & Girls Cross Country teams finished off their fantastic seasons with top 20 finishes at the IHSAA State Championship at La Vern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute Saturday afternoon.
Grace College’s men’s basketball team started the season off in style with a 109-70 victory over Michigan Dearborn on Saturday night.
Last night’s Class 6A Sectional 2 semifinal, a 14-9 win clinched in the last 51 seconds by the host Warsaw Tigers over the Elkhart Lions, gave Tiger fans a chance to experience the Warsaw’s sine wave season within the 48 minutes played last night at Fisher Field.
Hosting Guerin Catholic in the semifinal game of IHSAA 3A Sectional 28, the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings were able to string some good things together, but not enough to overcome their opponent and their big second half. The Golden Eagles won the game 34-14 to advance to the sectional championship next weekend.

The secret is out. Grace’s men’s basketball team can no longer fly under the radar following a breakout campaign in 2021-22. The Lancers return nearly their entire roster from last year’s sterling season. A youthful Lancer squad burst onto the national scene with a 27-9 record under head coach Scott Moore.
Grace’s women’s golf team finished as national runners-up and Summer Stillson won the individual national championship as the NCCAA national tournament came to a close on Wednesday afternoon.
A hard fought battle between the Warsaw Tigers and the Lake Central Indians went the way of the latter Saturday night in the IHSAA 4A Regional 1 final between two of the final eight teams in the state. Lake Central took the match 3-1 (23-25, 25-18, 23-25, 17-25) to advance to the semi-state round this weekend.
It was a very successful Saturday morning for the Warsaw cross country program at the IHSAA semi-state races held at New Prairie High School. Both the boys and girls teams secured top six finishes and will advance to the state championship at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute this weekend.
Grace College’s men’s soccer team picked up a 5-0 win over Taylor on Saturday evening.
The Whitko Wildcats and Manchester Squires began their road to the IHSAA 2A Sectional 35 championship with a rematch of a game won 34-12 by the Squires back in Week 7. Manchester improved on the first result to win the rematch 36-6 on Friday night and advance to the sectional semifinal.
Grace Men’s Golf Ready For National Tournament
Grace’s volleyball team registered a marquee victory with a sweep of St. Francis on Wednesday. The Lady Lancers downed the Cougars, who are receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches’ Poll.

The Warsaw Tigers volleyball team came into the season with two main goals, the same two goals the team has had in each year since head coach Chandra Hepler took over in 2020: win the Northern Lakes Conference and take home a sectional title.
A lone goal from Danae Moriarty separated Grace’s women’s soccer team from Bethel on Saturday.
The Tippecanoe Valley Vikings started Friday night alone atop the Three Rivers Conference standings with a 7-0 league record, but at 9:25 p.m. they were sharing the TRC crown with Rochester and Southwood, losing to the latter 28-26 on a night the Knights’ Senior Night.
The Warsaw Tigers clinched a third place finish in the Northern Lakes Conference with a 35-21 victory at Northridge Friday night. The Tigers wrap up the regular season with a 7-2 record, 5-2 in the NLC.
The Triton Trojans football team honored 12 seniors before their regular season finale against Winamac for their dedication to the program and the work they’ve put in that spans far longer than their four years at the school. The fun would only be beginning for the Trojans, as the team put together a complete game to stomp the Warriors 42-6 and end the regular season with a 6-3 mark.
Volleyball Sectionals and Middle School Football
All five sets were required for Tippecanoe Valley and John Glenn in their opening match of IHSAA Volleyball Sectional 18 Thursday night in Akron. The Lady Vikings would emerge victorious with a 3-2 victory to keep their season alive and improve the team’s record to 14-13.
Grace College’s volleyball team did battle with No. 12 Taylor on Wednesday night, falling in straight sets.
Overtime looked to be in store for both the Warsaw Tigers and Noblesville Millers in their IHSAA boys soccer regional semifinal Wednesday night. Through 38 minutes, both teams had played hard and evenly. A goal in the final minute by the Millers would be the difference and break the Tigers’ hearts as Noblesville advances to the regional final after a 2-1 win.
