It was a banner day for starting pitcher Haylee Allen and her Wawasee teammates Friday evening, as the Warriors defeated the Lady Squires of Manchester 10-5 on the road to improve to 4-2 this season. Manchester has dropped four in a row since winning its opener to fall to 1-4.

Grace’s baseball team earned a much needed split with Huntington on Thursday afternoon. The Lancers entered the game in a tie for sixth place in the conference standings. By going 1-1 on the afternoon, they are sitting in a good position to find a spot in the conference tournament come May.

Grace College’s softball team came up empty in a midweek double header against Crossroads League foe St. Francis.

The rivalry between Warsaw and Tippecanoe Valley has taken place on many battlegrounds over the years. Wednesday night’s edition of the rivalry was played on the baseball diamond and was controlled by the Tigers from the first pitch onward, as Warsaw notched a 14-2 victory in five innings.

The Warsaw Lady Tigers softball team plays three of the Northeast 8 Conference’s best teams each year: Huntington North, Columbia City, and Tuesday night’s guest at the Tiger Softball Complex, East Noble.

The Whitko Wildcats played spoiler to the Wawasee Warriors on the baseball diamond Tuesday night, coming away with a 9-8 win in the Warriors home opener. Wawasee was held scoreless in the first and seventh innings but scored at least one run in the five innings in between while Whitko used runs in each of the last four innings to win the back-and-forth affair.

Grace’s offense erupted for 21 runs in its doubleheader sweep of Marian University on Monday afternoon. The Lancers plated 17 runs to win the opener 17-6 and stout pitching nailed down a 4-3 win to take care of the Knights in the rubber match.

With Spring Break over and spring sports beginning to ramp up, the Tippecanoe Valley and Triton baseball teams met in Bourbon Monday night for a nonconference matchup. The Vikings would do damage in bunches, putting up crooked numbers in the first, third, sixth and seventh innings in a 16-2 road victory.

For the seventh consecutive year, Parkview Warsaw YMCA held its annual Good Friday Breakfast at Christ’s Covenant Church Friday morning. The event was headlined by its keynote speaker, former MLB player Doug Flynn.

Grace’s baseball team began its series against Spring Arbor on Thursday afternoon. The Cougars squeaked out a 3-2 victory before winning 21-5 to close out the twinbill.

New Conference For Tippecanoe Valley, Triton competes in baseball and softball

It’s likely fans attending Triton Junior-Senior High Trojans sporting events have seen novel t-shirts reading “Krull-y THE GOAT.” Folks outside the community who might see people of all ages, but mostly teenagers, wearing the graphic t-shirts are wondering what the backstory of these shirts is.

Well, it’s happening…Tippecanoe Valley is changing conferences.

Grace College’s softball team started a six-game home stand by splitting a Monday afternoon doubleheader against Huntington.

For the ninth time this season, Grace’s baseball team earned a doubleheader split or better. This time on the road at Goshen, falling 11-5 and winning 9-7.

Grace’s baseball team picked up a split against Mount Vernon on Monday afternoon, taking the finale of the series against the Cougars.

After a memorable season, Grace’s men’s basketball team picked up a handful of All-American honors.
