Fresh off of a sectional title won last Thursday, the Warsaw Lady Tiger tennis team arrived hungry for more upon arriving at the IHSAA Girls Tennis Regional at Culver Academy Tuesday afternoon. Warsaw was able to defeat Northern Lakes Conference opponent Plymouth 4-1 to advance to the regional final.

Warsaw tennis would like to announce dates, times and prices for its summer tennis camps and clinics.

The 14th annual Blackburn Run 4?Others will take place on June 17, 2023. The event hosts both a 5K run/walk and also a 10K run. Race day registration and packet pickup begins at 7:30 a.m. and the race begins at 9 a.m. Registration costs $25 until June 4 when it increases to $32.

The oval in Foreman field was the venue for the 2023 IHSAA boys’ track and field sectional hosted by Goshen High School Thursday Night.

A busy day on the tennis courts resulted in Warsaw girls tennis hoisting its 22nd straight sectional championship after wins over Wawasee (5-0) in the semifinals and Columbia City  in the championship Thursday evening at Warsaw Community High School.

The Wawasee Warrior and Manchester Squire baseball teams met at Parkview Field Tuesday night, home of the Fort Wayne TinCaps. Part of the PSM Baseball Classic, the Warriors and Squires were two of 22 Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio high school teams to compete in the minor league ballpark. The game was highly competitive, with Wawasee scoring the winning run in the top of the seventh to secure a 3-2 victory.

The Warsaw Lady Tigers track and field team added another sectional title trophy to an already-crowded case Tuesday night. The win was no surprise among those watching the action on the oval in Fisher Field, but the win was not as dominant as it was in most recent seasons.

Whitko’s Gwen Howard picked up double victories in the shot put (43-03.75) and the discus (117-00) while sophomore classmate Emerson Harper picked up a win in the 200-meter dash (26.72 seconds), and two second place finishes (100m dash, 12.89; long jump, 16-09.75) in the IHSAA girls’ track and field sectional in Bremen.

The Warsaw Community Schools Athletic Department is excited to announce the student leadership team selections for the 2023-24 cheer block.

For the first time in team history, the women of Grace’s track and field team are now national champions.

For the second straight game, a late inning rally put the Warsaw Tiger baseball team in a position to earn a come from behind, walk-off win. This time however, the rally was cut just short, leading to a 5-4 Northridge victory. The Tigers are now 12-9-1 this season, 7-5 in the Northern Lakes Conference.

The Triton offense struggled to get anything going during its Hoosier North Athletic Conference battle with LaVille Thursday night, as the team fell 4-1. The Trojans are now 7-13 this season, 4-7 in the HNAC.
