I am writing this today directly to the football coaches and players at Tippecanoe Valley.
The Warsaw boys soccer team continued its impressive postseason success over the past few years in a big way on Saturday afternoon, as the Tigers took down Fort Wayne Northrop 2-1 at Huntington North High School to win its second sectional championship in a row. Warsaw heads into regionals with a 15-3-1 record.
The Tippecanoe Valley Football team continued its winning ways against future INSC foe John Glenn Saturday night. The Vikings improved to 8-0 on the season after a 37-14 victory over the Falcons.

Now THAT was a rivalry game: The September 29 gridiron clash between the Warsaw Tigers and the Wawasee Warriors felt like a rivalry game throughout the night, and not just during the Warriors’ customary success on its opening offensive drive.
Warsaw seized control early against short-handed Goshen on the way to a 42-7 Northern Lakes Conference football victory.
A great defensive first half was not enough for Manchester to come away with a Three Rivers Conference victory over Lewis Cass on Friday night, as the Kings did most of their damage in the final 24 minutes en route to a 38-7 win.

Two days after an impressive 3-1 win over Columbia City to open up sectional play, the Warsaw boys soccer team was back in action on Wednesday, taking on Homestead at Huntington North High School in the semifinals. It took a while for the Tigers to get going, but once they did, it was smooth sailing on the way to a 3-0 win.

A lot of people love this time of year.
After tying 2-2 in a meeting earlier this season, the Warsaw and Fort Wayne Northrop girls soccer teams had quite the stage to settle their differences Tuesday night: the opening round of IHSAA 3A Sectional 7. The game was incredibly entertaining with plenty of twists and turns, but the end result was the Bruins eliminating the host school Lady Tigers with a 4-3 win.
Boys Soccer Sectional results
Three teams entered IHSAA 3A Boys Soccer Sectional 7 with 12 wins already this season, with two of the three facing off in the opening round on Monday night in the form of Warsaw taking on Columbia City. The Tigers showcased incredible poise and patient offense at Huntington North High School, coming away with a 3-1 win to advance to the semifinals.
A fantastic fall for Warsaw golfer Abbey Peterson concluded on Saturday at the IHSAA State Finals at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel. Peterson finished the two-day competition at +7, good enough to finish tied for tenth in the state.
Grace College’s men’s soccer team once again used late heroics to overcome a multi-goal deficit in its 2-2 draw with No. 20 Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday night.

Tonight's game in question was a highly anticipated match up between Wawasee and Warsaw for the coveted “W’ trophy. The Tigers have held a nine game win streak against the Warriors and it seemed apparent that the Tigers believed they could keep it up easily. The Warriors led for a majority of the game, but a late touchdown was all the Tigers needed to hold on to a 22-15 victory.
While the way the first half went wasn’t exactly what head coach Eddie Fields had in mind, the end result was just what his team needed, as the Manchester football team defeated Whitko 21-0 in South Whitley Friday night to snap a three-game skid.
In the world of high school sports, fewer words hold more weight than conference champions.

On the final day of the regular season, the Warsaw and Northridge girls soccer teams met at the Tiger Soccer Complex to determine the Northern Lakes Conference champions. It was a grueling, hard fought game that saw the Lady Tigers try to crawl back from an early deficit, but in the end, it would be the Lady Raiders hoisting the conference crown after a 2-1 win.
Warsaw and Wawasee, two of the top three boys tennis teams in the Northern Lakes Conference this fall, met once again on Thursday for the final time this season in the opening round of the IHSAA boys tennis sectional at Warsaw. After five grueling matches, the Tigers were able to escape with a narrow 3-2 victory.
