After filling up the scoreboard to the tune of 71 points in their sectional opening game a week ago, the Triton Trojans football team continued its offensive tear during Friday night’s semifinal game against Culver Community, blitzing the Cavaliers for 56 points in a 56-0 victory to advance to next week’s sectional championship game.
Seven months after the conclusion of a record breaking campaign for Grace College’s women’s basketball team, the Lancers are just days away from tipping off the highly anticipated 2023-24 season.
In the not-so-quiet halls of Warsaw Community High School, there is a student whose artistic prowess is nothing short of extraordinary. Amani Rodriguez, a humble high school student, has taken the art world by storm with his exceptional talent and unyielding passion for creativity.
The Grace men’s basketball team is no stranger to big games. The current version of the Lancers is coming off of one of the best seasons in program history and will begin this year’s campaign ranked No. 2 in the NAIA.

Anticipation is sky-high for Grace’s men’s basketball team entering the 2023-24 campaign. The Lancers boast a battle-tested crew with a plethora of postseason experience under fifth-year head coach Scott Moore.
Warsaw Tiger Class of 2022 Alum Isaiah Courtois sped off the field following a touchdown and extra point putting Warsaw up by two touchdowns in a sectional barnburner gridiron 42-35 win over the Carrol Chargers in late October 2020, and exclaimed, “We’re built different!”
A pair of top-ten finishers paced the Warsaw cross country teams on what was yet another successful day on the course Saturday at the New Haven Regional. Both boys and girls teams earned the top five finishes necessary to qualify for the state meet this weekend in Terre Haute.
The Warsaw volleyball team was unable to take down host school LaPorte in the opening round of 4A Regional 1 for the second straight season, as the Slicers exacted revenge for last year’s defeat with a 3-1 (25-20, 18-25, 21-25, 22-25) win on Saturday. The Lady Tigers wrap up the season with a 23-9 record and as sectional and conference champions.
Football Sectionals
Grace College’s men's soccer team dispatched the Huntington Foresters 3-0 on Saturday night. With two games left in the regular season, the Lancers (12-2-1, 6-0-1 Crossroads League) hold a two-point lead over Bethel for the top spot in conference.
After weeks of speculation, opinions and everything in between, all that was left on Friday night was for the No. 3 ranked Tippecanoe Valley Vikings to take on the No. 1 ranked Indianapolis Bishop Chatard Trojans in the opening round of 3A Sectional 28 in Indy. While Valley was able to start off hot on the defensive side, early turnovers doomed the Vikings in a 40-7 loss.
Grace’s volleyball team found itself trailing two sets to one at St. Francis on Wednesday.

The Grace Shooting Sports Club (GSSC) recently competed in the National Collegiate Championships at the Cardinal Shooting Complex in Marengo, Ohio. The team took third place in the Olympic Bunker trap, competing against colleges from across the nation.
Chandra Hepler, head coach of the Warsaw volleyball team, has made her team’s goals clear in each year of her tenure: Win the Northern Lakes Conference and win the sectional.
The Warsaw boys and girls cross country teams fought through some rough conditions Saturday morning to take home a pair of sectional titles at the Manchester sectional. The boys won with a team score of 36 while the girls brought home the title with a 49.
With a 2-0 win over Spring Arbor on Saturday night, Grace College’s men’s soccer team maintains its spot atop the Crossroads League.
Volleyball Sectionals
The poor weather didn’t stop the Tippecanoe Valley faithful from coming out in droves to Smith-Bibler Memorial Field Friday night for Senior Night. The Vikings didn’t disappoint their fans, demolishing the visiting Bremen Lions 51-16 to finish off a perfect 9-0 regular season. It’s the seventh time in team history that Valley is undefeated headed into the playoffs.
In a heart-pounding matchup that kept fans on the edge of their seats, Warsaw clawed back from a tied game with Northridge in the third quarter, 10-10, to secure a triumphant victory in the fourth. This epic clash was huge for Northern Lakes Conference implications, as the game ended in a 24-10 Tiger victory, giving Warsaw a share of the conference title.
Volleyball Sectionals
Grace College’s men’s soccer team picked up its 10th win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Saint Francis on Wednesday night.
After dropping last year’s IHSAA boys soccer regional semifinal game to Noblesville a year ago, Warsaw had a chance at revenge on Wednesday night at the Tiger Soccer Complex with the same stakes on the line. The Tigers got on the board early, but it was the Millers who wrapped up the scoring, winning 1-1 (4-3) on penalty kicks.
