The undefeated season continued for No. 2 Grace’s men’s basketball team on Tuesday.
While it wasn’t the prettiest game at times, the Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball team continued its winning ways on Tuesday night, outlasting NorthWood 46-38 in overtime on the road. Some tough defense and timely free throw shooting paved the way for a Lady Viking victory.
For the second consecutive season, Grace College’s men’s soccer team has been chosen as a host site for the NAIA First and Second Rounds.
For the third straight year, Grace’s cross country teams earned the title of national champions.
Girls Basketyball
The wait finally ended for Lakeland Christian fans on Thursday night, as the Lady Cougars finally played their first game of the season in front of their home fans. A strong performance on the glass and in the paint led to a 48-10 season-opening victory for the Lady Cougars.
It’s been nearly two weeks since the IHSAA Cross Country season concluded with the State Meet at Lavern Gibson in Terre Haute and even longer since the Lakeview runners surprised the state with a 5th place podium finish at the Middle School State Meet.
Grace’s men’s basketball team continued its torrid start to the season with a 117-71 rout of Governors State on Wednesday.
Grace College’s women’s basketball picked up a 57-48 victory over Roosevelt on Tuesday night.
Almost 300 student athletes from 29 different colleges and universities will flock to Warsaw and Winona Lake this week for yet another strong collaboration between Grace College and Warsaw Community High School.
Looking to turn the page after a season-opening loss by double digits to John Glenn, the Triton girls basketball team had the perfect opportunity on Tuesday night in the form of the team’s home opener against Argos. The Lady Trojans bounced back in a big way, earning a double digit victory of their own in a 46-32 win.
Grace’s men’s basketball team kicked off the second Crossroads Cascade Classic with a resounding 97-59 win on Friday against Bushnell.
Warsaw coach Bart Curtis called it “an avalanche of things” that Penn inflicted upon his visiting Tigers in Friday night’s Class 6A sectional championship that the Kingsmen won 31-10 at Freed Field.
The remarkable postseason run of the Manchester football team came to an end on Friday night, as the Squires fell 42-0 in the 2A Sectional 35 championship game to Bishop Luers. The Squires end the season with a 5-7 record, their most wins in a season since 2007.
After outscoring their previous two sectional opponents 127-6, the Triton Trojans had the difficult task of defeating North Judson for the second time this season in Friday night’s 1A Sectional 41 championship game. Despite a quick start, the Trojans were unable to come up with the stops it needed, falling 33-7.
A new era of Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball began with a win on Thursday night, as the Lady Vikings earned a season-opening victory over future conference rival Bremen 54-39.
Wednesday night was an evening to remember for Grace’s men’s basketball team. The Lancers clashed with NCAA powerhouse No. 3 Purdue in an exhibition game at Mackey Arena. The Boilermakers came away with the 98-51 victory in Purdue’s home opener.
Girls Basketball
Back like it never left, high school girls basketball returned to Kosciusko County on Wednesday night at the Tiger Den as Warsaw hosted Fort Wayne North Side to tip off the 2023-24 season. It was a terrific performance by the young Lady Tiger team, as Warsaw got off to an early lead and never looked back, cruising to a 68-28 win to start the year at 1-0.

I know, Halloween was yesterday.
The 2023 cross country season came to an end Saturday afternoon at the state championship races in Terre Haute. Both of the Warsaw boys and girls teams competed for the state crown, finishing eleventh and fifteenth.
Grace’s men’s basketball team completed its opening weekend with another victory on Saturday. The No. 2 Lancers (2-0) took care of Madonna 89-66 at the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center, scoring 50 points after halftime in an impressive performance.
Football sectionals
In a game that will undoubtedly be etched into Warsaw football history, the Tigers put on an incredible performance against Carroll, showcasing a level of skill, strategy, and teamwork that had fans erupting in the stands. From start to finish, the team displayed fantastic defense and sportsmanship on its way to a massive 31-17 win in its 4A Sectional 2 semifinal contest.
