Lindsey Wilson gave Grace’s men’s basketball team a battle on Tuesday night.
Having lost the previous two games to long-time rival Columbia City, the Warsaw girls basketball team came out with something to prove on Tuesday night, getting out to a fast start at the Tiger Den. Unfortunately for the Lady Tigers and their fans, it would be the Lady Eagles getting the last laugh, as the visitors used a big second half to win 61-48.
Boys and Girls Basketball
Both the Whitko and Manchester girls basketball teams went into Friday night’s Three Rivers Conference showdown with six wins, two of them in the TRC. Only one team would leave with a seventh win as well as bragging rights. That team would be Whitko, as the team used a massive second quarter to pull away and stay perfect in the conference with a 67-58 victory.
The undefeated start to the season continued for No. 1 Grace on Wednesday.
Riding a three-game winning streak heading into Wednesday’s game against Triton at the Trojan Trench, the Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball team used pressure-packed defense and a balanced scoring attack to extend the streak to four with a 49-32 win over the Lady Trojans.
The undefeated Triton boys basketball team and the winless Lakeland Christian side came into Tuesday night’s contest with different goals in mind. One side wanted to keep a streak going, the other trying to desperately end a streak of their own. In the end, it would be the Trojans keeping the zero in the loss column with a 63-17 win at the Trojan Trench.

Thanksgiving meals from November 23 have morphed – over this past week – into variations of combined leftovers for dinners, midnight snacks, and packed lunches for school and work.
Earning a win over Columbia City in the season opener on Saturday, the Warsaw boys basketball team had to wait six days to play its second contest, the home opener against Homestead at the Tiger Den on Friday night. After battling back from multiple double-digit deficits and a nine-point disadvantage going into the fourth quarter, the Tigers were able to remain undefeated and escape with a 62-56 victory.
While the leading scorer for Wawasee girls basketball changes nearly every night, there has been one constant for the Lady Warriors in the early season: winning.
Grace’s volleyball team kicked off its appearance at the 2023 NCCAA National Championships with a pair of sweeps on Wednesday.
After an up and down start to the season in nonconference play, the Triton girls basketball team had a chance to start over again on Wednesday night, hosting LaVille at the Trojan Trench for the team’s Hoosier North Athletic Conference opener. It wasn’t pretty for a good chunk of the game, but the Lady Trojans were able to erase a late deficit before winning 49-34 in overtime.
The incredible season from Grace’s men’s soccer team came to a close on Tuesday at the NAIA National Championships.
Unable to pick up a win in its season-opening game over Mishawaka a week ago, the Tippecanoe Valley boys basketball team got back to work at Rita Price-Simpson Court on Tuesday night hosting Fort Wayne South Side. A game that was a grueling defensive battle for the first 16 minutes opened up into an offensive showcase in the second, with South Side earning a 64-55 victory on the road.
Boys and Girls Basketball
After building some confidence over the weekend with two victories at the DAC/NLC Shootout, the Warsaw Lady Tigers basketball team looked to keep it rolling against a Penn team it has struggled against in recent years. There were no struggles on Tuesday night however, as Warsaw throttled Penn 69-50 at the Tiger Den for their first win over the Lady Kingsmen since the 2016-17 season.
Warsaw Coach Matt Moore watched his two leading scorers receive their diplomas last spring, but he’s optimistic about the squad who will take the court against Columbia City in the season opener.
Grace College’s men’s soccer team had a statement win over Briar Cliff in the Second Round of the NAIA Tournament on Saturday evening.
Girls Basketball
After a fantastic 2022-23 campaign that saw the Wawasee girls basketball team earn a third place finish in the Northern Lakes Conference, the Lady Warriors picked up right where they left off on Friday night, earning a 36-24 win on the road at Concord to begin the 2023-24 NLC campaign with a well-earned victory.
Grace’s men’s basketball team will get the unique opportunity to play at an NBA arena on Dec. 30. The Lancers will take on Alice Lloyd (Ky.) on Dec. 30 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, home to the NBA’s Indiana Pacers.

The Triton girls basketball team has had an up-and-down start to its season, trading wins and losses in its first three games. On Thursday night, the Lady Trojans were unable to continue the trend, dropping their second straight game in a 53-39 loss to Plymouth.
