Undefeated in Northern Lakes Conference play coming into Monday’s game against NorthWood, the Warsaw baseball team faced perhaps its biggest test of the season thus far. The Panthers were able to score three runs early and add a fourth late, which was just enough to take down the Tigers 4-2.
Track and Field is in full swing, and the Warsaw athletes continue to put forth efforts that are causing some to ask if this is the golden-age of Warsaw T&F.

Coming into Wednesday night’s game against Goshen at 0-6, the Warsaw softball team got off to a hot start in their Northern Lakes Conference matchup, getting out to a 7-1 lead after five innings. The Lady RedHawks mounted a furious comeback, scoring five runs in the final two innings, but in the end, the Lady Tigers were able to hang on to a 7-6 victory for their first win of the campaign.

Facing off against Caston for the second straight day, the Triton baseball team found itself in an early 4-0 hole that later turned into an 8-0 deficit. The Trojans were able to rally late, but it was not enough as Triton dropped its second straight Hoosier North Athletic Conference game 8-4.
Grace’s baseball team dropped a pair of games to finish its series against Huntington on Monday afternoon. The Lancers couldn’t find enough offense on the day, falling 6-3 and 8-2.

Cross-county rivals Warsaw and Wawasee met Monday evening at Tiger Field for the Northern Lakes Conference opener for both squads. While the Warriors would strike first, it would be Warsaw with the last laugh, scoring runs in each of the final four innings to win 8-2.

Down to its final at-bat in the second game of the day, Grace’s baseball team rallied to score three runs to force extra innings. An inning later, the go-ahead run scored, giving the Lancers a 4-3 come-from-behind victory over Huntington on Saturday afternoon.
Runs were scarce on Friday night as the Wawasee and Manchester softball teams met in Syracuse. Both team’s starting pitchers turned in outstanding performances to keep things tight the entire way. In the end, the two runs scored by the Lady Warriors in the first two innings would be enough for a 2-1 win.
Playing in front of their home crowd for the first time in 2024, the Warsaw baseball team had an offensive day to remember against Tippecanoe Valley on Wednesday night. Using an eight-run third inning, the Tigers were able to cruise to an 11-0 victory in five innings.

Grace’s baseball team collected a pivotal 6-2 victory over Goshen on Tuesday.
Tuesday night’s nonconference game between Whitko and Wawasee had a little bit of everything. Terrific pitching, timely hitting, and a game that was in the balance until the final pitch was thrown. In the end, the pitching of the Warriors was too much, as the visitors struck out 15 Wildcats in a 3-1 win.
Elijah Malone added one final accomplishment to his legendary career for Grace’s men’s basketball team.
Monday night’s game between Triton and Tippecanoe Valley was a pitcher’s duel for the first three innings before the offenses got it going in the latter half of the game. Both teams led multiple times but it was the Vikings coming away with a 6-5 win after scoring two in the bottom of the sixth.
An unprecedented season for Grace’s men’s basketball team ended with a pair of crowning awards on Monday.
