AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley Vikings displayed some late-inning heroics against Three Rivers Conference rival Peru on Wednesday. In a 7-6  high school baseball victory, Valley (4-14, 1-6 TRC) scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to claim its first conference win of the season.

SOUTH WHITLEY – A matchup that was nearly even on paper turned out to be just as close on the softball diamond Wednesday evening. In a key Three Rivers Conference matchup at Whitko High School, the host Lady Wildcats took a 1-0 lead in the third inning but eventually lost 2-1 to the North Miami Lady Warriors.

Warsaw cross country and track and field standout Justin Fleming has signed his letter of intent to attend Indiana Institute of Technology in Fort Wayne.

Members of the Warsaw Community High School boys track and field team participated in picking up trash around the Chinworth Trails.

GOSHEN – One title streak ended, while another was extended in Tuesday evening’s Northern Lakes Conference track and field championship meet at Goshen High School.

WINONA LAKE – Grace College is set to host the NCCAA Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Championships on Thursday and Friday at the Key Track and Field Complex.

BOURBON – Senior River West pitched a complete game and was in dominant form in Whitko’s 19-2 win over Triton on Tuesday.

WINONA LAKE – Lauren Keiser of the Grace College women’s golf team was honored nationally as the NCCAA National Golfer of the Week.

The Warsaw Lady Tiger tennis team finished the regular season and concluded Northern Lakes Conference play with a 5-0 win over Goshen Monday. The Lady Tigers accomplished their goal of a perfect record in regular season NLC?action and improved to 11-3 overall along the way.
