SYRACUSE – A much different feeling than this time last year.

NORTH MANCHESTER – Kennedy Fierstos tallied 19 points and nine steals to lead the Manchester girls basketball team to a resounding 55-31 Three Rivers Conference home win Friday over Southwood. 

AKRON – Through nine games, all of which were wins, the Winamac High School varsity girls basketball team gave up an average of just under 28 points per game.

MISHAWAKA – Former Warsaw boys basketball head coach Al Rhodes won his 600th career game Thursday in Penn’s 71-56 win over South Bend Washington.

NORTH MANCHESTER – The Manchester University baseball program will hold multiple skills camps and a hitting school in the coming weeks.

LAGRANGE – Micah Cokl scored 16 points to lead the Whitko boys basketball team to a 56-50 victory Wednesday at Prairie Heights. The Wildcats led 24-17 after the first quarter and 32-24 at halftime.

FORT WAYNE – Kennedy Fierstos set the all-time Manchester girls basketball three-point record Tuesday. 

Warsaw Community High School senior Maddie Ryman celebrated her 18th birthday in style Tuesday.

As Brielle Harrison held the ball and let the final seconds tick off the clock of Warsaw’s 13-point win over Columbia City Tuesday night, my brain threw up a picture of the Lady Tigers’ short-term schedule.

WINONA LAKE – Cam Screeton has decided to resign his post as the head coach of Grace’s baseball team.

HUNTINGTON – After leading by as many as nine points in the first half, Grace College’s men’s basketball team sputtered to the finish line on Saturday at Huntington University.

To say that Wyatt Amiss has been shooting the ball well, said Warsaw boys basketball coach Doug Ogle, would be an understatement.

Al Rhodes left the Warsaw boys basketball program after the 2001-02 season.
