Sheila R. Hackworth, 53, Silver Lake, died at 11:15 a.m. Nov. 1, 2016, in her residence. She was born Feb. 4, 1963, in Rush, Ky.  On July 14, 1984, she married David Hackworth, who survives. LEESBURG – Nathan David Bowerman, 29, Port Saint Lucie, Fla., and a former summer resident of Black’s Landing on Tippecanoe Lake, passed away Oct. 6, 2016, after a three-year battle with cancer. He was born in Kokomo on March 15, 1987, to David and Joni Black Bowerman.

James A. “Jim” Priser, 61, passed away unexpectedly at 1:32 p.m. Oct. 31, 2016, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, while surrounded by his family. He was born Jan. 13, 1955, in Warsaw, to James M. and Shirley Harmon Priser. He married Sally Hogan on June 11, 1977, in Warsaw.

Loretta Y. Walls, 78, a lifetime Warsaw resident, passed away Oct. 28, 2016, in Port Charlotte, Fla. She was born Dec. 27, 1937, in Warsaw, to Edward M. and Lois J. Kyle Conaway. On Oct. 3, 1975, in Warsaw, she married Wendell A. Walls, who preceded her in death June 16, 2015.

Ricky Lee Groves, 53, Leesburg, died at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 31, 2016, in his Leesburg home. He was born Dec. 1, 1962, in Warsaw, to Leland Herbert “Lee” and Mary Ann Birtwhistle Groves. He married Penny Hill on Nov. 15, 1993, in Leesburg He was a Warsaw Community High School graduate and a graduate of Vincennes University with an associate degree in radio broadcasting. He was a lifetime Kosciusko County resident and a general laborer. 

Marilyn D. Powell, 71, Milford, passed away at 12:10 a.m. Oct. 29, 2016, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. She was born March 5, 1945, in Warsaw, to Joseph and Evelyn Brown Scott. On April 12, 1963, she married Fred Powell, who survives.

D. Lucille Gaither, 96, of Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake, passed away at 5:17 p.m. Oct. 26, 2016.  She was born on July 3, 1920, in Monett, Mo., to Veda E. Taylor Owens and Charles W. Owens. On Oct. 1, 1939, she was married to Berlin Donald Gaither, who passed away on Jan. 8, 2001. 

George Harold Dome, 100, Sidney, died at 4:45 a.m. Oct. 31, 2016, at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, where he had been a resident since November 2015. He was born Oct. 5, 1916, in Sidney, a son of Loyal W. and Frances Palmer Dome. On April 24, 1943, he was united in marriage to Norma A. Heeter.  He graduated from Sidney High School in 1934.

 David J. Crouse, 87, West Lafayette, passed away on Oct. 28, 2016, while in the hospital fighting an infection. His daughter, Marilyn, was at his bedside.
