ELLENTON, Fla. — Marjean Saltsgiver returned to heaven on May 4, 2017, at the age of 78. She was born and raised in Warsaw, moved to the suburbs of Chicago in 1958 and settled in Bradenton, Fla., in 1971. She was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Bradenton. Marjean loved sewing, camping, reading and helping the elderly in the community, but her greatest joy in life came from being the most loving, caring and fun "Grammy" to her grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Richard; beloved daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Ron Van Ostenbridge; granddaughters, Casey Van Ostenbridge (Bryan) Russell and Carey Van Ostenbridge; and great-granddaughters, Hayley and Hannah Russell, all of Bradenton; sister, Debby West, New York; brother, Ron West, Indiana; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Barb and Bob Danielson, Indiana, and Joann and Tom Saltsgiver, Pennsylvania. SYRACUSE — Paula O. Ryman, 74, Syracuse, passed away at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017, at her home. She was born Jan. 9, 1943, in Robbinsville, N.C., to Paul and Thelma Cook Colvard. She attended high school in Robbinsville and moved to the Syracuse area in 1972 from Albion. She was married Aug 30, 1980, in Syracuse, to Tommy L. Ryman, who survives.

Don C. Fleming Jr., 83, Warsaw, passed away at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Don was born Sept. 25, 1933, in Gary, to Don C. Fleming Sr. and his wife, Lillian Elsie Richardson Fleming. He graduated from nearby Portage High School in 1952. He was also a 1956 graduate of Purdue University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in industrial psychology. On Oct. 23, 1953, Don was united in marriage to Charlotte Ann Johnson in Portage. Although the two had been together since seventh grade, they shared 63 years as a married couple. Charlotte survives in Warsaw.
Timothy J. “Tim” Bradley, 59, Warsaw, passed away at 3:05 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. He was born July 6, 1957, in Fort Wayne, to James R. and Marian Carlton Shoemaker Bradley. He lived most of his life in the Goshen/Warsaw area and graduated from high school. On Aug. 27, 1977, in Warsaw, he married Cheryl D. Chaney, who survives. He was owner/operator of Tim’s Windows, Warsaw, since 1990 and formerly worked at Zimmer, Warsaw, for 13 years. He was a ministerial servant and faithful member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Warsaw. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Bradley, Warsaw; two daughters, Sherri (Christopher) Allen, Silver Lake, and Sheena Berry, Warsaw; two grandchildren, Trystyn James Berry and Brantly Izaya Berry; his parents, James and Marian Bradley, Mitchell; and a brother, Randy (Julie) Bradley, Mitchell. GLENWOOD, Iowa — Patrick Timothy Ross, 73, Glenwood, Iowa, passed away May 9 at the Josie Harper Hospice House, Omaha, Neb. Patrick was born Nov. 22, 1943, to James and Alice Ross in Newton, Iowa. On Sept. 11, 1965, he married Cheryll Bunn in Rock Island, Ill. He is survived by Cheryll, Glenwood; son, Thomas (spouse Heather), Claypool; son, Timothy (spouse Ellen), Council Bluffs, Iowa; daughter, Theresa, Omaha; sister, Sarah “Sally” Cassady, East Lansing, Mich.; sister, Barbara “Sue” Wilkinson, Huntsville, Ala.; brother, Rafael “Joe,” Afton, Iowa; brother-in-law, Ed Bunn, Colfax, Iowa; and sister-in-law, Gerri Ross, Montezuma, Iowa. He was an adoring “Papa” to his four grandchildren: Maxton, Meg, Andrew and Aaron. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother, Michael; brothers-in-law, Donald Cassady, Dick Wilkinson and James Bunn; and sister-in-law, Myrna Bunn. Devoted to his family, he was an avid photographer who enjoyed taking pictures at family events and the extracurricular activities of his children and grandchildren. His unique sense of humor and quick wit entertained many. He loved chocolate and dessert. He was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Creighton Bluejays. Patrick graduated from Dowling Catholic High School, Des Moines, and St. Ambrose University, Davenport, Iowa. Working his entire life in the financial industry, he worked his way up from teller to bank president, retiring from Mills County Bank as branch president in 2009. Living most of his adult life in Mills County, his giving heart led him to be involved in several community groups, including chairman of the building committee for Holy Rosary Catholic Church, president of the Glenwood Community High School Ram Booster Club, director and volunteer at the Mills County Storehouse, director of the Pottawatomie County Red Cross, and Rotary Club fellow. Visitation will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Glenwood, from 2-5 p.m. June 11, with a prayer service to follow. Catholic services will be at 10 a.m. June 12. A private burial is planned at a later date. Peterson Mortuary, Glenwood, is handling the services. Charles Robert Hite, 65, passed away at 8:34 a.m. Monday, May 8, at St. Joe Regional Medical Center, Plymouth. Charles was born Aug. 8, 1951, in Warsaw, to Harold and Mable Luse Hite. On Oct. 13, 1979, he was married to Julia A. Utter in Warsaw. They would share 30 years together before her passing on April 12, 2010.

Carol J. Seitz, 68, Warsaw, passed away at 10:34 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. She was born April 20, 1949, in Baraboo, Wis., to Vern and Margaret Goodenough. She was united in marriage to Richard Seitz on Jan. 28, 1967, in Durwards Glen, Wis.; he survives. Carol moved to Warsaw from Wisconsin 50 years ago. She was homemaker and a very active grandmother. She attended Warsaw Community Church, where she was a member of the prayer group. Carol was a prayer warrior until her very last day. She is survived by her husband, Richard Seitz, Warsaw; her daughter, Angela Hurd, Warsaw; her son, Rich Seitz, Appleton, Wis.; two sisters, Joan Goodenough, Lancaster, Wis., and Betty Lambrix, Noonan, Ga.; her brother, Roger Goodenough, Detroit, Mich.; and five grandchildren. Carol was preceded in death by her parents. Services will be at noon Friday, May 12, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Jeff Pfeifer officiating. COLUMBIA CITY — Mason Phonsavanh, 31, Fort Wayne, formerly of Columbia City, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017, on the trails of Winona Lake. Born Oct. 30, 1985, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, he was the son of Deng “Dan” and Lorraine Moog Phonsavanh. He grew up in Fort Wayne and Columbia City. As a boy he enjoyed riding his bike, fishing with his grandpa, playing video games, being with friends and camping. Following being homeschooled, Mason graduated with a bachelor’s degree in network management from Indiana Tech. During college, he drove for Home City Ice and would enjoy the times when his dad would ride along with him during his routes.

Monte L. Florey, 70, passed away at 7:18 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2017, in Mason Health and Rehabilitation, Warsaw. Monte was born Oct. 30, 1946, in Rochester, to Charles and Geneva Madeford Florey. He graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1966. On June 19, 1994, he was married to Mary Drudge Randall in Warsaw. She survives after sharing 22 years together.
