Editor, Times-Union: Lately, there have been some fellow contemporaries who have asked why I have not written a letter to the editor for a while. My answer to this question is that sometimes life takes its toll on a person and at times it seems a person is lucky to have enough energy for a meaningful thought.
Editor, Times-Union:It seems like everybody is selling gold now. Right, Left, Republican, Democrat - everybody's buying or selling gold. Oops! Here comes the punch bowel again.
Editor, Times-Union:Who in the world, in their right mind, would vote for Obama and his administration? B.O. (no pun intended) is a direct threat to the safety, economy and Constitution of the United States of America, including the first and second amendments.
Editor, Times-Union:To be on the receiving end of Ms. Torpy's wrath for two consecutive days does make one feel special.
Editor, Times-Union:There is a situation at Washington Elementary School that I am very concerned about.
- Compassionate Daughter - Doing Better Compassionate Daughter Editor, Times-Union: My daughter, Lathan Lee, told me by phone recently that she had been blessed so much that it made her feel really uplifted.This was very good news since she recently lost her husband while they were living in Indiana selling Home Health Care policies out of their home. She has only been in her condo in Fort Myers a very short time when she read an ad in the Fort Myers newspaper asking for help in manning phones from victims of Katrina trying to get in touch with their insurance companies or agents, and when she has told them how to make the contact, they thank her and bless her as they say goodbye.

Hickory Creek of Warsaw, a long-term care facility, has been in this community caring for people for 30 years.The residents of this facility are mentally retarded, developmentally disabled, mentally disabled and have a lot of behavioral problems. Because of their condition and state of mind, other long-term care facilities do not want to house these special people.That is why our "house" facility is so special.
Editor, Times-Union:No one likes taxes. And no corporation looks for opportunities to pay more in taxes than their fair share.

Editor, Times-Union: One of the great things about being in the United States is the freedom of speech. Through letters to the editor, facts have been brought to the attention of the public about the harmful effects of CAFOs in this area. The statements made in this venue have been well documented and backed up with places of reference.
