Letters To The Editor

Editor, Times-Union:Warsaw is a great city to live in. It is a great place to raise children, our police force is of the highest calibre and one can be proud to call Warsaw “home.”

Editor, Times-Union:The Lake Tippecanoe Property Owners Association Board (not the full membership) wants to eliminate motorized boating on 7 percent of Lake Tippecanoe and further restrictions on Little Tippy, based on the input of only 14 individuals at a meeting attended by only 28! For reference, there are about 725 LTPO members and over 1,600 Tippy residents.

Editor, Times-Union:I couldn’t help but wonder when reading Terry Bartley’s letter in Friday’s paper if he really knows his Democrat party.

Editor, Times-Union:I just read the letter from Monica Boyer about comments made Saturday by our Dist. 22 state representative, Rebecca Kubacki.

Editor, Times-Union:I am a 16-year-old girl, and I was brought up in a Christian environment. However, I am now atheist.

Editor, Times-Union:Ted, Ted, Ted, why did you have to go calling people names?

- Gun Stories - No Dumping Gun Stories Editor, Times-Union: Saturday morning (Nov.8) Mr.Gerard had an excellent column dealing with the way the media handle gun stories.Wednesday evening we have another glaring example.Indianapolis Monday night two women were slightly wounded when some moron dropped a .32-caliber derringer out of his shirt pocket and the American Health Association is screaming its head off about more gun control. Now don't take me wrong.I'm not trying to minimize the incident; it could have been a whole lot worse. Why any idiot would be carrying such a weapon, let alone in his shirt pocket, is beyond me.But what really blows my mind is the organization's reaction to it.In order to make my point I will take you back a few months and use an example similar to Mr.Gerard's, only in the same town as the accident.

Editor, Times-Union:Another school year has launched and back to the books.

- Before It's Too Late - Mature And Compassionate - Straight Talk - Getting Away With Murder? - More Balanced Before It's Too Late Editor, Times-Union: Almost daily in this column, Christians, Satanists, Agnostics, Atheists, Animists and others of various religious stripes trade arguments. However, one second after each of them dies, they will know the truth.ÊBut sadly, then they will not be able to change their minds - ever! I am voting for the one and only living God while I am still alive.

Editor, Times-Union:I keep reading letters to the editor and comments from letters of others on taxes that Democrats are being blamed for from a pair of cheerleaders from the Nisly camp, Miller and Martin.

Editor, Times-Union: The premier episode of the Discovery Channel show “Curiosity” posed the question, “Did God create the universe?”

Editor, Times-Union:I, too, am writing in reference to the leaving of Dr. Goksel.

Editor, Times-Union:On March 30 at 6:30 a.m., I tried calling for help for a veterinarian. I would get a recording to call this number. I did get the same response to each and every one.

Editor, Times-Union: There was a time when it was not uncommon for people to expand their intellectual horizons, maybe just to keep from getting bored, or just for simple curiosity, however, Dr. Francis Spitznagel of the Pew Research Center says, “Nowadays those same people can just spend their time playing Farmville or uploading pictures of their kids to one of Google’s several dozen social networking sites.”

Editor, Times-Union:If one were to Google “Zhenya Ogden, Winona Lake,” as a potential employer would be likely to do, they would find a record of arrest on a felony charge.

I was standing in line at Aldi on Friday afternoon. In the next lane over, an elderly woman watched as a man unloaded his cart and placed a bouquet of flowers on the conveyor belt for his sweetheart.
