- Cemetery Defended - Heartline - Opening Day - Exchange Students Cemetery Defended Editor, Times-Union: We are appalled! The sexton, Dave Shaw, runs the cemetery by the book! He has always been sensitive and considerate of our families feelings. Our father, John Dove, was buried in Oakwood December 1998 and overnight all of his flowers were eaten by the deer.At first we were upset and went to the office to complain that vandals had cut off all our father's flowers, that's what it had looked like, after they explained that it wasn't vandals that in fact the deer love the fresh flowers, we were fine. There isn't anyone who can control those deer from nibbling on the flowers or bushes that are planted there. It's a chance you take anywhere you plant something.

- Damaged Harley - Caring Community Damaged Harley Editor, Times-Union: Stacy, I'll admit there wasn't a whole lot of damage done to my bike, only $364 for a new fender, but, hey, that's just pocket change to us, right? - Property Tax Reform - Gift Of Sight - Man's World - Celebrate Christ's Birth - Good Doctors, Nurses - 'Bad Santa' Property Tax Reform Editor, Times-Union: On Dec.5, the Indiana House of Representatives voted to pass Senate Bill 1, with a goal to provide supposed relief to property taxpayers throughout Indiana.Unfortunately, I feel that this bill does more harm than good, and does not provide the relief that taxpayers have been calling for, and because of that, I voted no on SB1.

Editor, Times-Union:My third-grade grand-nephew was sitting on the couch with me and asked, “Uncle Ted, why do the kids at school say they hate Obama?” I was not surprised to hear this but when I tried to tell him why I really couldn’t come up with an answer simple enough for a third-grader's mind to understand, at least one that was based on fact. Sure it would have been easy enough to explain why someone would disagree with Obama, but to hate him?

- Stolen Money - Road Complaints - Love, Not Religion - Public Apology - Re: Mauk's Letter - Smith Rebutted - More Police Patrols Stolen Money Editor, Times-Union: On Jan.13, we cashed our Social Security check, paid bills, then kept an appointment at KCH Radiology at 2 p.m. My wife and 3-year-old grandson were to wait in the waiting room, so I foolishly put my remaining cash in the jacket I wore along with pocket items. Because a 3-year-old is active, there came a point where my jacket was sitting unwatched. During that brief period, someone took the cash only that was in a money clip.
