Letters To The Editor

Editor, Times-Union: The voters that elected our next president are thrilled with the results of their presidential choice.

Editor, Times-Union: Thank you to all the businesses that showed appreciation to the veterans Monday.

Editor, Times-Union: I would like to thank everyone who SECRETLY voted:

Editor, Times-Union: You did it. You Voted. You won. You chose lies over truth, anger over peace, vengeance over forgiveness, divisiveness over unity and hatred over acceptance.

Editor, Times-Union: I was caught off guard the other day when I received an anonymous note from someone in the mail.

Editor, Times-Union: The 26th Annual Kerlin Family of Businesses Coat Drive to benefit people in our community who need warm winter wear was a huge success.

Editor, Times-Union: Donald Trump and Mike Johnson are not the only ones who can keep “little secrets” to themselves. Every American who votes has the ability to keep little secrets as well.

Editor, Times-Union: If you are a Republican who cares about this country and the direction it is headed, these are a few examples of many respected Republicans, including former staffers and supporters expressing no confidence in Trump. You can vote for Harris on a split ticket and still vote for your other preferred Republican candidates.

Editor, Times-Union: If you need the truth about what’s going on in the country, read Newsmax Magazine. They tell it like it is.

Editor, Times-Union: My name is Nicholas Richcreek, and I’d like to apologize to Lassus Handy Dandy for the event that happened last year.

Editor, Times-Union: As someone who has dedicated years of their life to public service, Randy Polston’s impact on our community has been immeasurable. His commitment, wisdom and tireless efforts have left an indelible mark, and I for one, am grateful for his service.

Editor, Times-Union: I cannot let my opponent's shameless blatantly racist political stunt go unanswered.

Editor, Times-Union: Rudy Yakym’s recent letter to Secretary Mayorkas about migrants in Logansport is yet another clear example that he has nothing to offer his constituents but darkness and division. He has no record of accomplishments to talk about, so, like Trump, he has to try to scare people into voting for him. Logansport isn’t even in Yakym’s congressional district.

Editor, Times-Union: It seems to me that the Republican Party, that used to be known as “The moral majority” has abandoned their position on law and order, honesty, high moral standards and other conservative values that they have long been remembered for. It seems to me they have lost their moral compass.

Editor, Times-Union: In support of:

Editor, Times-Union: This year, democracy is actually on the line. Democrats are relying on people wanting to believe their lies in order to maintain control of the government.

Editor, Times-Union: So many hard-working Americans just do not have time to watch a lot of news programs or even read real newspapers.

Editor, Times-Union: Dear Officer Drew Brenton,

Editor, Times-Union: I write this letter with heartache and remorse. I have never witnessed a more cataclysmic and destructive four years of governance by the majority party in my life.

Editor, Times-Union: In support of:

Editor, Times-Union: Human life begins at fertilization. At fertilization, a distinct (unique DNA), genetically complete (with all of your genetic code), and self-directing (your biological development has always been striving to reach your fulfillment) human being is formed.

Editor, Times-Union: It is glaringly obvious to anyone with functioning brain cells that today’s MAGA (formerly known as the Grand Old Party) has only one strategy to win the 2024 election: divide and conquer and pull the wool over the voting public’s eyes. Their playbook consists of misinformation, distortion of facts, projections, conspiracy theories and plain old bald-faced lies. If they cannot find damning evidence of lawlessness or evil deeds in their opponents’ resumes, they just make something up: Kamala’s intelligence or race, Tim’s real pet dog or his mysterious connection to China; Biden’s unwillingness to help America’s catastrophe victims.

Editor, Times-Union: Do we want the next four years to be like the last years?

Editor, Times-Union: Our future is on the ballot from the presidential race at the top of the governor’s race and all the key races down ballot. Control of Congress, our ability to vote, our democratic processes, long-held freedoms, are all on the ballot. “A lot of the things that get decided at the federal level really are so distanced from the everyday of peoples’ lives ... But the state-level elections are the ones that really have a huge, huge impact ...” (AARP Bulletin, July-August 2024)

Editor, Times-Union: With the events of the last week of several states having a lot of destruction due to extreme weather, there have been many opportunities to be “the good Samaritan,” and to “love your neighbor as yourself.”
