Letters To The Editor

Five years ago, our community lost a beautiful mother, daughter, sister and friend.

Editor, Times-Union:I have written letters before in support of our local animal shelter, the Animal Welfare League, in Warsaw because I love animals.

Editor, Times-Union:Sticks and stones may break my bones, but being called a racist can destroy your life. Ironically, many who accuse conservatives of being racists are truly racist because of what they believe and do.

Editor, Times-Union:Re: Mr. RansomeWhat a bunch of huff and puff.

Editor, Times-Union:Dear VFW,

- Oldest Companies Oldest Companies Editor, Times Union: I enjoyed reading the stories recently in the Times-Union about the oldest companies in Warsaw that are still in business today. You left out one - American Brattice Cloth Corp.(now known as ABC Industries Inc). The company was founded by my father, Daniel B.Mikesell, in 1926.The company, after being a part of the Peabody group, was reorganized by Steve Rufenbarger in 1989, and a new name was chosen - ABC Industries Inc. We still make brattice cloth and ventilation tubing for the mining industry, but have added several industrial products, mostly in the field of ventilation.ABC people have put our products in many parts of the world, all from our headquarters right here in Warsaw.

- Property Tax - Stolen Sign - Congratulations Lady Tigers - Accident - Federal Budget - Gun Letter - Prayer Walk - Justice Property Tax Editor, Times-Union: I just received this year's property tax bill.It jumped $300 over last year's bill.In reviewing the charges, the entire increase will go to the school district.

Editor, Times-Union:Rahm Emmanuel said, “You never let a serious crime go to waste.” The liberals are milking the Orlando shooting for all it’s worth.

Editor, Times-Union: On Saturday a man ran a stop sign and hit me. It banged my van up bad enough it was undrivable. It also shook me up pretty bad.

Editor, Times-Union:The big government takeover has to stop.

Editor, Times-Union:I was reading the Wednesday, April 17th edition of the Times-Union and got to the back page of section B.

Editor, Times-Union: Your intellect is only surpassed by your spin. I used to think the Democrazies were the best spinners but somewhere along the line the Republicrats passed the donkey boys up like they were standing still. The Republicrat party spins to the Governor, the Governor spins to the chamber and the chamber spins it to the editor. Editor says this is myth and this is fact. To this my head is spinning. Making it clear to me why I have never won an election. No beanie and no spinner.

Editor, Times-Union:Ebola. ISIS. Ukraine.Huge and terrible headlines dominate the news outlets, but something small and wonderful happened in Warsaw this weekend.

Editor, Times-Union:My girlfriend of five years, bless her heart, was in excruciating pain that turned out to be gall bladder issues.

Editor, Times-Union:Ah, Marvin, Marvin, Marvin! How little you know about the orthopedic industry or the medical field. How can hearings done 15 or 20 years ago have anything to do with what is happening in this election now? How can anyone have total recall of facts, figures and conversations that many years ago?

Editor, Times-Union:I realize some people are having difficulty accepting Barack Obama as our commander-in-chief.

Editor, Times-Union:In spite of all his education and his collegiate degrees, I am still surprised at how President Obama has shown no capacity to learn from his mistakes or the mistakes of others.

Editor, Times-Union:I have been reading the letters to the editor questioning my values and not representing the values of district 22.

Editor, Times-Union:I knew it. I knew that if I openly basked in the glow of the two weeks of silence from Sarah Palin in regards to Egypt that I would be jinxing it.

Editor, Times-Union: In Saturday's (3-27-99) edition of the Times-Union, Managing Editor, Mr.Gary Gerard, (near the end of his column, titled "Newswrap") offered an apology for the printing of two words in an article reprinted off the Associated Press newswire concerning an unfortunate rape incident out in Sparks, Nev.

Editor, Times-Union: Mr. Wright, The first paragraph of your letter (Feb. 15) sounded a lot like a conversation we had at an area fast food restaurant about sporting events. I guess you wouldn’t know he was defending himself against our garbage.

Editor, Times-Union:OK, I really hope some of you die-hard Obama supporters (Anthony Burchette and Janet Collins especially) can answer some of these questions I have for them cause I am truly baffled at their points of view.

- Caring Community - 'Outdoor Scene' Inappropriate - Accident Victim Says Thanks - Grave Situation Caring Community Editor, Times-Union: The community of Kosciusko County is a very caring and giving place to live.Recently, I organized a coat drive to benefit people in our community who were in need of warm winter wear. The response was beyond my expectations.Kerlin Motor Co.in Silver Lake was the coat drive and collection headquarters. The collection box was a Ford truck in the showroom and the coats were piled so high they nearly touched the ceiling. We collected over 500 coats. War

Editor, Times-Union:In 1969 I was 13 when Edwin Star sang a song called “War what is it good for?”
