Editor, Times-Union: Stupid subject one: “A wannabe cop carrying a gun on neighborhood watch patrol. I headed up neighborhood watch in California in the early ’70s. No one was authorized to carry a gun. Only mace and a walkie talkie. Observe and report. Stupid subject two: Jumps on a man who is carrying a gun on his belt. I submit this was “suicide by dummy.” One shot of pepper spray in the face would have ended the problem. I have done it many times and have never carried a gun. This silly debate gives me a headache.
