AKRON - Zella I. Bowman Bain, 95, formerly of Wynnfield Crossing, Rochester, died at 8:25 a.m. March 4, 2008, in Hickory Creek, Rochester, where she resided.
She was born Oct. 22, 1912, in Miami County, to Charles B. and Abbie J. Smith Young. On March 29, 1929, she married Frank H. Bowman, who died Aug. 27, 1982. She then married William Bain, who preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and formerly worked at stores in the area. In 1949, she became a member of Church of the Nazarene. She was an organist and pianist.
Surviving are two daughters, Betty (and spouse the Rev. Byron) Conrad, Sacramento, Calif., and Jean (and spouse Donald) Personett, Akron; a sister, Louise Gerrick, Rochester; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, a sister and three brothers.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Rochester Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Don Meyer officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Gilead Cemetery.
No calling is planned.
