SILVER LAKE – During the Silver Lake Days parade Saturday, it was announced Cliff and Cindy Zehr were the parade’s grand marshals.
Cliff and Cindy met at Goshen College and have been married since 1977. They have two daughters and two grandchildren, according to information provided.
Cliff and Cindy, the daughter of Ed Kerlin, went on to run Kerlin Bus Sales after Ed retired. Cindy retired in 2017 and Cliff retired in 2025.
Cindy volunteered her time with hospice patients and their families. She has been a part of the boards for the Kosciusko County Community Foundation and Combined Community Services.
Cliff also gives his time, sitting on numerous committees and volunteers for Habitat for Humanity. He is a member of the Silver Lake Community Center Project Construction Committee and was instrumental in the planning phases on the Community Center Planning Board, according to the information.
The parade theme is “2nd trip around the Sun.”
Also on Saturday, the cutie king and queen were announced. Queen was Hendrix Sausaman, 4, daughter of Derek and Holly. King was Elias Bradford, 5, son of Lucas and Melissa.
The grand prize was a bicycle each for the king and queen.
Also during Silver Lake Days, a car show, music by DJ Ricky and a scavenger hunt were Friday.
A tractor show and motorcycle show were Saturday.
Also on Saturday, the fire department had a tenderloin fry, there was a cornhole tournament and a tug-of-war contest as part of Silver Lake Days.
There was live music at Rambler Park with City Lights Band performing.
At Rambler Park, there was Gator Gulp, Zorb Ball Track and Animal Kingdom and children’s train rides.
