Kosciusko Community YMCA announced the grand opening of the LilyPad Café & Playcenter on Monday, Oct. 27 at the Parkview Warsaw YMCA.
Created to meet the needs of local families, the LilyPad Café & Playcenter offers a welcoming space where young children can play, learn and explore while parents take time to relax and do remote work nearby, according to a news release from the YMCA. Designed for children ages 0 to 4 years old, the Playcenter provides a preschool-like environment filled with imaginative play zones, sensory activities and opportunities for social development in a nurturing setting.
Next door, parents can enjoy coffee from The River Coffee at the LilyPad Café, which features comfortable seating, free WiFi and a calm atmosphere perfect for conversation or productivity. Two private offices are available for parents on a first-come, first-served basis, with reservations for these spaces coming soon.
Reservations for the Playcenter are open to both YMCA members and non-members, offering one- to four-hour prepaid time slots. Walk-ins are welcome when space allows, and parents must remain on-site while their children play.
“The LilyPad Café & Playcenter is an exciting new way for us to support families,” said Jim Swanson, CEO of the Kosciusko Community YMCA. “It gives parents a chance to recharge, connect or get work done while knowing their children are in a safe, engaging environment. This project is a true reflection of our mission to strengthen the community through family-focused spaces and opportunities.”
The YMCA extends special thanks to the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce, Kosciusko County Community Foundation, Johnson & Johnson, LaunchPad, Maple Leaf Farms, United Way, Moake Park Group Inc. and Zimmer Biomet for their generous support of this project. The YMCA also thanks Robinson Construction for their outstanding work in transforming the space into a bright, family-friendly environment that truly reflects the Y’s mission and values, the news release states.
