Worth Thomas Ganshorn, 88, of 8 EMS B61K, Warsaw, died at 6:24 p.m. Oct. 12, 2008, in Grace Village Retirement Community - Healthcare, Winona Lake.

He was born Dec. 19, 1919, in Etna Green, to Ople P. and Emily Elizabeth Thomas Ganshorn. On June 29, 1946, he married Thelma Esther Metzger, who died Oct. 30, 2006.

Living in Kosciusko County for the past 82 years, he attended Warsaw Community Church. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942, serving as a mechanic in the South Pacific Theatre until his honorable discharge in 1945. He spent most of his life serving area farmers in mechanic service and equipment sales.

Surviving are a son, Monty (and spouse Bev) Ganshorn, Leesburg; two daughters, Nancy Wattenbarger, Bourbon, and Jane (and spouse Randy) Stouder, Warsaw; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Max Ganshorn, Syracuse. He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Bryan Koorey officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
